Cayce Lucca’s grandmother passed away on Sept. 9, 2016. Her grandfather, who had been by her side for nearly a lifetime, was devastated by the loss.
Her health had been failing, and the family knew it wouldn’t be long before she was gone. In her final moments, her husband leaned over and whispered in her ear.
“I have always been true to you for seventy years,” he said.” There has never been anyone else for me and there never will be, you are my sweetheart and I will be lost without you.
“I loved you all those years. I will be with you before very long; you are my only one.”
After his speech to his wife, he kissed her on the forehead. She left the world shortly after.
Lucca’s grandfather took his wife’s passing to heart. She had been his partner for decades, and he was indeed lost without her.
Eventually, the mourning widower’s health began to fail. He didn’t have much of a reason to fight without his soulmate by his side.
His health continued to get worse and worse until he could no longer move or communicate. He was paralyzed, and the family knew his days were numbered.
Lucca’s mother told her that she believed her father was waiting for his wife to come take him to the afterlife. Days passed, though, and she never came.
Then, while Lucca and her mother were watching over her grandfather, something happened. He started to reach out in front of him, as if grasping at something unseen to the rest of the people in the room.
hortly after, the man who missed his wife so badly reunited with her in heaven. He died on Sept. 9, 2017 — exactly one year after his wife.
“Can you believe that my grandma and grandpa passed away on the same exact day?” Lucca wrote in a Facebook post. “That is true love; not a coincidence and if you say it is [a] coincidence, you are mistaken.”
