“An apple a day keeps the doctor away”, they say. But is that true on these days?
Apples are healthy and delicious fruits. They contain vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants.
The problem is that fruits these days are not as good and healthy as they used to be some years ago. After they are harvested, producers will coat them in a commercial-grade wax to keep them fresh longer.
Because many people want to see the amount of wax on fruits, we prepared a video for you which shows what happens when you pour hot water an apple bought from a local grocery store. The hot water heats up the wax and it sluices off, hardening as it cools below.
So once you’ve got your bag of apples home, you might want to clean that wax off. Boiling water will ruin the apple, but you can use a mixture of lukewarm water, lemon juice, and baking soda and scrub the apples clean.
